How to Avoid Giving Up When It Feels You'll Never Get Your Big Break as an Independent Adjuster
Persistence, Pull and Pull and Pull... What else are you going to do?
Someone needs to hear this today…
I was working on my boat motor yesterday trying to remove a broken part. It felt like I would never get it off. I undid the bolts (a huge feat in itself), I was covered in grease, exhausted, hands beat up, and ready to throw in the towel.
A neighbor stopped by and I talked him into helping me, we were attempting a new tactic, but I gave it one last tug, with little or no effort from him and it popped off! He said I already had the job done before I asked him to help, but just didn't know it yet.
Here is a quote about what I felt and maybe what you are feeling and I know some of you feel the same way.
"A little more persistence, a little more effort, and what seemed hopeless failure may turn to glorious success."
OK I get it! We all have had to wait for the call, not everyone gets called out and it is frustrating. I know that many good adjusters are sitting on the sidelines RIGHT NOW! It feels as if something is holding them back, but it can't always be seen what that is.
I didn't know why the part wouldn't come off and had NO CLUE that it was about to come out. Waiting to get deployed is the same way, you don't know when its going to break and it feels like you can't control it.
We have to be persistent. Keep pulling, keep going, pull, pull, pull. I don't know what is holding you back, but once you get your chance things will probably change forever so it's worth the effort.
